About

A space for beauty, culture, and the quiet work of living well.

I have always been drawn to beautiful things.

Not in a way that seeks excess or novelty, but in the quieter sense—

spaces that feel settled,
meals prepared with care,
clothing that is simple but considered, and a way of living that reflects attention rather than haste.

For many years, this took shape in the art world. I wrote for magazines, sold my own work, ran galleries, and spent time teaching and consulting other artists.

Later, I opened a coffee shop, and then a second.

Building something physical—places people return to—taught me just as much about beauty, order, and human experience as art ever did.

Over time, I began to notice that what I was really drawn to was not any one field, but a way of life.

A life that is cultivated.

One that values:

– beauty over excess
– intention over impulse
– depth over noise

In recent years, I have found myself returning again and again to the French—through language, cooking, and culture—alongside the Catholic faith, which has long been the foundation beneath everything else.

Both, in their own ways, continue to shape how I see and live, pointing toward a life that is ordered, meaningful, and quietly rich.

I am not an expert in these things.

I am a student of them.

This space is where I write about what I am learning—how to create a home that feels peaceful, how to develop taste, how to live with greater intention, and how beauty, in its many forms, can lead us toward something higher.

If you are drawn to a slower, more thoughtful way of living, you are very welcome here.
